Howdy! I’m sure everyone has been anxiously awaiting my post…so here it is

Anywho, I am currently sick and in bed for this week, so it has been a little rough and kind of getting in the way of school, but on the bright side of it all, I’ve slept more this past week than I have perhaps all quarter thus far!! I’ve had to miss classes cause I am contagious, but this frees up a lot of time to actually study. Today we had an Infectious Disease case presentation, and my only thought throughout the entire thing was I hope I don’t sneeze in the middle of this thing, it would have been a tad bit ironic I am convinced that I got the virus from infectious disease class sometime last week.

This past weekend though was one for the books. Me and a few friends got a hold of U2 concert tickets earlier this year and so we drove up to Chicago for the best time of our lives! It was only the second weekend of classes so we didn’t have any looming tests to worry about and so we hit the road blasting U2 music and having a good time. We got there late Friday night and then saw Chicago all day Saturday. The friends I went with had never been to Chicago, so we did what every tourist does and stopped by at Lou Malnati’s for some god sent Chicago style deep dish pizza.

The concert was at 7 pm @ Soldier Field! To the left as far as you could see was Lake Michigan and the rest of your view was this wild contraption that was a stage.

I’ve been to a lot of concerts, but I have never been to a U2 concert!! It’s a whole different ball game. There’s nothing like it. Anyways, Snow Patrol opened for them and they were a band I’ve never really listened to but they were surprisingly good on stage. By now it was about 8:30 and the sky was dark and it was getting to be pretty chilly. The second that U2 came into the arena the entire place stood up and all you could hear was a constant roar! I think I lost my voice after about 30 minutes into it all. My favorite song was prolly, One, or Elevation, Angels of Harlem, Electrical Storm……(you get the point…I can’t pick)

Anywho I’m going to get back to some studying and stop listening to U2 .

To anyone who has any questions about school, applying, life in med school, Kirksville etc…. don’t hesitate to shoot me an email.

Sincerely,

Rushi Parikh
